"The Order of The Scarlet Cord has a new addition in the shape of Ribble Valley (The Internet) Consistory No 138 which was consecrated at Rochdale masonic hall on Saturday 22nd January.
The Most Worthy the Grand Summus, Ian Currans along with his Deputy Francis Spencer and Assistant Howard Markham performed the consecration in a most spectacular and sincere ceremony.
Grand Director of Ceremonies Phillip Purves kept things moving smoothly. Ryan Williams, Grand Recorder made sure everything was recorded perfectly and a galaxy of Acting Officers as well as the Grand Tzaddikim were in attendance making the ceremony a day to remember.
The concept of an ‘Internet’ consistory is a concept being unique in bringing in members from not only the local area and around the World. Ian Currans commented that this was a very good idea and it has proved successful as members have been attracted all across the U.K. and as far afield as Brazil, The USA, Australia, Spain and France
The consistory will meet three times per year, the installation taking place at Mill House near Accrington in Lancashire, then a meeting at Tapton Hall, Sheffield, Yorkshire and the third meeting is at a venue of the President’s choice. So for those who like travel and visiting halls around the country its perfect.
Present, Ian and his team consecrated the consistory. It was then time for Paul Joynson, Prov.G.Rec. and organising Secretary to be installed as its first President by Frank Spencer in a perfect ceremony. The hard-working Paul had been well rewarded for all his efforts in getting this project off the ground and delivering the fourth consistory to the Province of East Lancashire.
The plan is to combine the meetings of this consistory with the OSM Supera Moras (The Internet) Conclave No 49, which likewise draws members from all over the country to mutually benefit the membership levels of both units.
There are candidates waiting to take the first grade of the Order at the next meeting of Ribble, so things are off to a strong start.
Following the meeting the companions retired to a Lancashire themed meal in the ballroom. The new consistory was toasted in fine style and Paul was able to thank Ian for his work with a nice bottle of Lancashire Gin.
